I'm Ben Callaghan. Callaghan Media films before-and-after videos for trade businesses across Melbourne: plumbers, tilers, sealers, carpenters, electricians, painters and landscapers. One person on site, from $1,450 + GST for a 2-hour shoot, or from $500 a month.

How the day runs.
- 1 I arrive before the work starts That is the before. The job as the customer sees it when you turn up.

- Each visit is one job. I get the before, the work and the after, and you talk me through it on camera.
- Each visit lands as a project tour and two reels. The tour is 30 to 60 seconds, landscape for your website and vertical for socials. Reels are 15 to 30 seconds, vertical, cut from the same visit.
- Site Visit is the one-hour version: one job, one reel.
- Everything comes back cut and ready to post. I make them, you post them.
- Three months to start, then month to month with 30 days notice.

How much does a before-and-after video cost in Melbourne? +
$1,450 + GST for a 2-hour shoot with Callaghan Media, plus $250 an hour if the job needs longer. That gets you one 30 to 45 second before-and-after film in landscape and vertical, two or three vertical reels, and drone or time-lapse where the job allows it. Sites near Croydon or the Fitzroy studio include travel; greater Melbourne is $150 on top.
Do I need to stop work while you film? +
No. You keep working and I film the job as it happens. At some point in the day you or your lead tradie walk me through the job on camera.
Can you film my job in one visit? +
Yes, if the job starts and finishes inside the shoot. I arrive before the work starts for the before, film the job, and get the after before I leave. 2 hours covers most regrouts, seals, repairs and installs. Longer jobs run as a longer shoot at $250 an hour, or split into visits with a $200 trip fee per extra visit.
Which trades do you film? +
Plumbers, tilers, sealers, carpenters, electricians, painters and landscapers, and any trade where the job looks different at the end of the day. If the work changes something a customer can see, it films.
Do you travel outside Melbourne? +
Yes. Melbourne is the day to day, with travel included near Croydon and the Fitzroy studio and $150 across greater Melbourne. Regional Victoria and interstate are quoted before the date is locked.
What do I get after the shoot? +
One before-and-after film, 30 to 45 seconds and fully graded, in landscape for your website and quotes and vertical for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Two or three 15 to 30 second vertical reels cut from the same day. Drone or time-lapse where the job allows it. Marketing usage rights on all of it. First cut inside a week, finals the week after, one round of changes.

Yes. Site Visit is $500 + GST a month for an hour on one job and one reel, with travel per visit on top. Site Snapshot is $1,500 + GST a month for two jobs on camera, two project tours and four reels, Melbourne travel included. Three months to start, then month to month with 30 days notice.

Ben Callaghan, a Melbourne video producer with a studio at 415 Brunswick St, Fitzroy. He shoots and edits himself, so one person turns up on site and the same person cuts the films.
